Ginny Martino - Head Coach, West Chester University Women’s Lacrosse
Entering her 27th season as head coach, Ginny Martino has established herself as a legend in collegiate women’s lacrosse. As the all-time winningest head coach in NCAA Division II history and one of only eight women’s lacrosse coaches across all divisions to surpass 400 career wins, Martino’s impact on the sport is unparalleled.
Since taking the helm at West Chester University, Martino has transformed the Golden Rams into a perennial national powerhouse. Under her leadership, the team has reached the NCAA Division II national championship game 11 times and amassed an overall record of 405-83 (.824), including a dominant 252-21 (.920) mark in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play.
Martino's Golden Rams have claimed 15 conference titles, two national championships, and 12 NCAA semifinal appearances. Her career includes five PSAC Coach of the Year awards (2001, 2005, 2018, 2023, 2024) and two National Coach of the Year honors (2002, 2008). Her teams have also posted a remarkable 72-game conference winning streak and set program records with a 22-1 campaign in 2023.
Over the past six seasons, West Chester has gone 110-9 overall and 69-2 in conference play, winning five PSAC titles during that span. In 2023, Martino led the Golden Rams to the NCAA national championship game after an undefeated regular season, capturing the Atlantic Region crown and finishing with the best record in the nation.
Martino’s program is synonymous with sustained excellence, having reached double-digit wins in each of the last 21 seasons. She continues to set the standard for success in NCAA women’s lacrosse, earning her place among the most accomplished coaches in the history of the sport.
