Wes Schneider - Head Volleyball Coach, Life Pacific University

Life Pacific University is excited to welcome Wes Schneider as the Director of Volleyball. With over 20 years of coaching experience, Wes brings a history of success to the program. His coaching career includes leading Lees-McRae College to back-to-back Conference Championships and making history as the first team in Conference Carolinas to go undefeated in consecutive seasons. His accomplishments earned him the Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year award in 2011.

Wes continued his coaching journey at Cal Baptist University, where he led the men’s volleyball team to a #5 national ranking in 2013 and was nominated for the AVCA DI/DII National Coach of the Year. He also has extensive coaching and recruiting experience at the club level with TStreet Volleyball Club.

Athletic Director Davis Nuaimi highlighted Wes' strong presence both on and off the court, saying, “We are beyond excited for Coach Wes to be joining the LPU team. His spirit is infectious, and his consistent success will undoubtedly benefit our volleyball programs, department, and community as a whole.”

Coaching/Training Accomplishments:

  • 20 years of volleyball coaching experience at the Club and Collegiate levels.
  • Led Hope International University’s men’s volleyball program to the most wins in its history, finishing #7 in the nation in 2005.
  • Conference Carolinas Champions (2010-2011) with Lees-McRae College.
  • Undefeated Conference Carolina seasons (2010-2011), a first in conference history.
  • Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year (2011).
  • Led Cal Baptist Men’s Volleyball to #5 national ranking (2013).

Athletic Experience:

  • Loyola Marymount University Volleyball (1993-95).
  • Competitor in the CrossFit Games (2018).
  • Competed at the Olympic Festival for Volleyball (1994).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University.
  • Master’s degree in Coaching from the United States Sports Academy.

Personal:

  • Hometown: Saginaw, Michigan.
  • Residence: Riverside, California.
  • Family: Married to Nicole Schneider, with three daughters: Mia (16), Allie (13), and Toby (11).
  • Hobbies: Training for CrossFit and playing disc golf.

Coaching Philosophy:

Wes is passionate about helping athletes become their best selves—athletically, academically, and spiritually. His coaching is deeply connected to his Christian faith, and he sees sports as a ministry to positively impact lives.

He expressed gratitude for joining Life Pacific University, stating: “I’m so thankful for the opportunity to get back into coaching at the collegiate level.
